“The Lord has truly been raised…”
– Luke 24:34
The Catholic Community of Corpus Christi was established in 1981 after a small group or men and women from the neighborhood got together one day and wondered amongst themselves, “What must we do to have a church of our own?” Soon after they formed a committee and met with Bishop Raymundo Peña and asked for the creation of a parish. Bishop Peña officially established Corpus Christi Parish on December 9, 1981. It’s birth was celebrated in the midst of two Marian Feast: the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary (Dec. 8) and Our Lady of Guadalupe (Dec. 12). Now Corpus Christi stands tall with a growing community of over 2,500 registered families and 4,000 parishioners. It has many Ministries, including Night Adoration, Small Communities and Evangelization. Also, we have a great Religious Formation Program that offers Catechism, Confirmation, Special Education and RCIA classes in both English and Spanish.
